Frost Damage Prevention

As a reminder from the maintenance department:

We are experiencing some very low temperatures at the current time and expect some more low temperatures throughout the holiday season into the early New Year.

If you plan on leaving your home for any extended periods it is important to leave the home heating operational during the cold spell. Setting the Thermostat for 60 degrees is sufficient to prevent freezing temperatures in the home whilst still conserving heating costs. Turning off heating when the homes are unoccupied is creating a risk of freezing up plumbing systems.

Any external water outlets such as hose bibs any irrigation systems should be disconnected and the water outlet covered to prevent damage.

Remember that often it will be after the extreme cold passes and the thaw begins that the issues are likely to arise.

Any work that needs to be done to your units should be called in as soon as possible to prevent bigger issues and to ensure timely repairs. You can report items that need repair to 633-6015.

Should you have any questions or need further explanation, please call our office at 928-633-6001.

Emergency Siren TEST

The Fire Department will test the community evacuation siren on Dec. 23, 2014 at 7AM.  If you hear an alarm at that time, it is only a test.  This testing will help us ensure that in the event of an emergency, Bagdad residents can be notified by this alarm.  If this were an actual emergency, all residents should report to the Bagdad High School football field, unless directed to a different location by emergency personnel.
